Euro 2016 qualifying. Review of the group stage finish.

The group stage in qualifying for Euro 2016 in France is now complete. We witnessed an exciting finish in some of the groups.
Hungary will surely feel disappointed as they were squeezed out of the automatic qualifying by the late result in group A, where Turkey needed to win at home against Island and hope for a first Kazakhstan win in the group away at Latvia in order to finish as the best third-place team and qualify automatically. Kazakhstan ended up winning 1-0, but Turkey were reduced to one man down in their own game and it looked like the game was going to come to a 0-0 draw, sending Turkey into the play-off pool of teams, when they were finally able to score off of a great free kick in 89th minute and ensure their direct qualification.
Another notable story is that Holland failed to qualify for the final tournament for the first time since 1984.
Italy provided a boost to Croatia by overcoming a halftime score of 0-1 at home to Norway. The final score of 2-1 to Italians coupled with Croatia’s 1-0 win sends Croatia into the final tournament, while Norway joins other Scandinavian countries of Sweden and Denmark in the play-off.
Bosnia, Cyprus and Israel were all contesting a play-off bound third place finish in their group, with Cyprus playing at home vs Bosnia and needing a win and an Israeli loss away at motivation-less Belgium. Belgium won 3-1 and it was clear that the third place will be decided between Cyprus and Bosnia. It was a wild game with each team taking the lead at some point of the game. Bosnians went up 1-0, then Cyprus took advantage and lead 2-1. The Bosnians were able to overcome their opponents in the end though and the final score of 3-2 saw Bosnia advance to the round of playoffs.
